Joblumi vs Kickresume: translated CV or German CV?
You have a CV in English and you want to apply in Germany. Kickresume offers one route: its AI can translate your CV into German in about a minute and write new text for you, inside a large library of designs. Joblumi takes a different route: it rebuilds your CV and cover letter the way German employers expect them, and explains each rule in English.
Both tools can produce a CV in German. This page shows which route fits your search and what each costs over time.

Translation and German conventions are two different jobs
Kickresume's translation page lists English (US and UK), Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Czech and Slovak. You pick a source and a target language and the CV is translated in the editor. Its German CV page says you can translate into 8 languages without third-party tools. Several language versions can sit in one account.
A translated CV keeps the structure of the original. For a German application, some points are not about language at all:
- Dates. German CVs usually give months and years, such as 03/2021 to 08/2024. Joblumi uses the MM/YYYY format throughout.
- Layout. The common German CV is tabular: short entries in reverse order, no long paragraphs. Joblumi's designs follow this.
- Language levels. German employers read levels on the European scale (A1 to C2, GER in German). Joblumi asks for these levels, not for words like "fluent".
- Photo. A photo is optional in Germany. Joblumi has an optional photo field and works without one.
- Cover letter. The German business letter follows DIN 5008: sender block, date line, subject line, formal greeting. Joblumi lays out every cover letter this way.
Kickresume's help center explains that you can choose German as the language, and the next document you create is in German. Its help center also lets you create documents in other languages, which helps if you apply in several countries. For Germany only, the points above are the ones to check.
What you get without paying
The two free plans are built differently.
- Kickresume Free lets you make as many CVs and cover letters as you like and download them as often as you like, as long as you stay with the free design options. You get 4 basic CV templates and 4 matching cover letter templates. The AI writer and the AI resume checker are paid features.
- Joblumi Free is one complete application: 1 CV in 3 of the 10 designs with PDF download, up to 5 changes, the full (G)ATS Score with every fix shown, 1 version of your CV for a specific job with a language check, 1 cover letter, and 1 job on your list.
So Kickresume's free plan is wider for design and downloads; Joblumi's free plan includes the CV check and one job-specific version.
What 3 months and 12 months cost
Kickresume's own pricing page says most people need three to six months to find a new job. Here is what each tool costs over two typical periods, at the prices shown on 31 Oct 2026.
| Period | Joblumi | Kickresume |
|---|---|---|
| 3 months | €34.90, one 90-day pass, ends by itself | €54 with the quarterly plan (renews after 90 days unless you cancel); €72 with three monthly payments (calculated) |
| 12 months | €139.60 for four 90-day passes (calculated) | €96 with the yearly plan, paid in advance (renews after a year unless you cancel) |
For a full year, Kickresume's yearly plan costs less than four Joblumi passes. For three months, the Joblumi pass costs less, and there is no renewal to stop.
Renewal, refunds and cancelling
Kickresume's terms say auto-renew is selected when you buy a plan. To stop it, cancel before the end of the current term, or close your account. You stay on the plan until the paid period ends, and the rest of the period is not refunded. New users may get their money back within 14 days, once per user (terms, retrieved 31 Oct 2026).
Joblumi has nothing to renew or cancel. If you buy another pass while one is running, its days are added to the end. Joblumi also offers a voluntary full refund within 14 days, once per account and payment method, on top of your statutory right of withdrawal.
