Joblumi vs Zety: downloads, the trial and how to cancel (2026)

Joblumi EditorialLast checked 1 Nov 20267 min read

With Zety you can build a CV for free, but the free plan downloads it only as a plain text file (TXT). A PDF needs a paid plan, and the paid plan starts as a 14-day trial for €2.70 that turns into a subscription by itself. With Joblumi you download your CV as a PDF on the free plan, and the paid pass runs for 30 or 90 days and then ends.

So the questions are: which file do you need, for how long, and will you remember to cancel?

Two Zety sites, two price lists

From Germany, zety.de and zety.com showed different prices on the same day. The German page lists €26.70 every 4 weeks after the trial and €69.99 for a year. The English page lists €23.70 every 4 weeks and €71.40 for a year. If you use the English site, check the price shown there before you pay.

Downloads: which file you get on which plan

Many people find this out only at the end. On Zety's free plan you can fill in your CV, but the download is a TXT file: plain text, without layout, fonts or design. Zety's German FAQ says the download of your document is the paid part.

A TXT file is useful for pasting text into a job portal form. As the CV you send with an application, you will usually want a designed file such as a PDF.

What 30 and 90 days cost (calculated)

Zety's trial lasts 14 days. If you don't cancel, the first 4-week charge follows on day 14, and then one every 4 weeks. Joblumi's pass is one payment.

How long you need itJoblumiZety, prices on zety.deZety, prices on zety.com
14 days, then cancel€0 on the free plan€2.70€2.70
30 days€14.90€29.40€26.40
90 days€34.90€82.80€73.80
12 months€139.60 for four 90-day passes (360 days)€69.99 yearly plan€71.40 yearly plan

Calculated by Joblumi from the prices on each provider's pages, 31 Oct 2026, without cancelling. Example for 90 days on zety.de: €2.70 + 3 × €26.70 (charges on day 14, 42 and 70) = €82.80. Joblumi prices include VAT.

The table shows both sides: for two weeks or for a whole year, Zety can cost less. Between one and three months, the pass costs less.

How the trial turns into a subscription

1. Day 0: you pay €2.70 and get full access for 14 days. 2. Day 14: the access becomes a subscription. On zety.de that is €26.70 every 4 weeks. 3. Every 4 weeks after that: the next charge, until you cancel.

The yearly plan on zety.de has a minimum term of one year. After that year it becomes a subscription at €26.70 every 4 weeks, unless you cancel. Zety's FAQ says that after you cancel, the subscription stays active to the end of the current billing period.

A Joblumi pass ends after 30 or 90 days. A second pass bought while one runs adds its days on top.

How to cancel Zety

Zety's German FAQ describes the way in the account: log in, open "Konto", then "Tarifdetails", then click "Abo kündigen". You can also use the cancellation form on zety.de, call 0800 1806575 or write to kundendienst@zety.de. Its terms say you get an email with a cancellation number as confirmation (terms, section 10, retrieved 31 Oct 2026). If you only want the trial, cancel before day 14.

Your CVs stay in your Zety account after you cancel. If you want PDFs of them, download them while the subscription is still active.

German CV and cover letter

Zety's German site offers 28 CV templates and says you can lay out your CV in tabular form. Its price page calls them almost 30 ATS-friendly templates. CV and cover letter can use the same design.

Joblumi is built only for applications in Germany: tabular CV, dates as MM/YYYY, photo optional, language levels A1 to C2, and a cover letter in German business letter layout (DIN 5008). The app works in English and German; with a pass it translates your documents between the two.

  • You need a CV for two weeks at most and will cancel the trial in time.
  • You apply for a year or longer and want one yearly payment.
  • You want Zety's sites for other countries, for example in French, Spanish, Italian, Polish or Brazilian Portuguese.
  • You want job matches, which Zety lists in all its plans.

When Joblumi is the better choice

  • You want a free PDF download, not only TXT.
  • You need one to three months and don't want to think about cancelling.
  • You want German conventions explained in English, with your CV and cover letter in German or English.
  • You want a board for your applications and practice for interviews and online tests in the same app (with a pass).
