Joblumi EditorialLast checked 1 Nov 20267 min read

bewerbung.ai and Joblumi are both built for applications in Germany. bewerbung.ai says it has 14 templates made to German standards: tabular layout, space for a photo and a signature, and orientation to DIN 5008. Joblumi also follows German CV conventions and writes cover letters in DIN 5008 layout.

So the two tools differ less in what the documents look like and more in two other points: the language you work in and how you pay. bewerbung.ai works in German and is a subscription with monthly quotas. Joblumi works in English or German and sells a pass for 30 or 90 days that you pay once.

Language: which one speaks to you

bewerbung.ai is written in German, from the website to the price page, the FAQ and the terms. If you read German comfortably, that is a natural fit: the tool speaks the language of the documents you send.

Joblumi has an English website and an app in English and German. The German rules are explained in English: why the CV is tabular, why dates are MM/YYYY, how to give language levels on the CEFR scale (A1 to C2), what a DIN 5008 letter needs, and whether to add a photo. With a pass, Joblumi translates your CV and letters between English and German, so you can write in English and send in German.

Subscription with quotas, or a pass with fair use

bewerbung.ai sells Premium and Unlimited for 1, 3 or 12 months. They renew automatically. In Premium you get, each month, 10 cover letters written with the AI coach, 1 CV optimisation for a job and 4 photos without watermark. The quota refreshes every 30 days from the purchase date, also on 3-month and yearly plans, and unused items do not carry over. Unlimited has no limits on optimisations and AI cover letters and gives 8 photos a month. Letters you write yourself are unlimited in all plans.

Joblumi sells a pass for 30 or 90 days. It does not renew. With a pass there is no fixed number of job versions and cover letters; fair use means up to 20 job versions a day. If you buy a second pass while one is running, the days are added.

What three months cost

If your search takes a few months, here is what three months cost with each tool, using the prices above. Three calendar months and 90 days are close, but not the same length.

Plan for about 3 monthsPriceHow it ends
Joblumi, one 90-day pass€34.90Ends by itself
Joblumi, three 30-day passes€44.70 (calculated)Each ends by itself
bewerbung.ai Premium, 3-month plan€39.90Renews unless you cancel
bewerbung.ai Premium, monthly plan for 3 months€59.70 (calculated)Renews unless you cancel
bewerbung.ai Unlimited, 3-month plan€59.90Renews unless you cancel

If your search takes a year, the bewerbung.ai yearly plans (€99.90 Premium, €149.90 Unlimited) come to €8.33 and €12.49 a month, as its price page shows.

Renewal and cancellation

The bewerbung.ai terms say a plan renews after its first term. You cancel in your account settings. In the first term the cancellation takes effect at its end; after that, the notice period is at most one month (AGB, section 2.6a, retrieved 31 Oct 2026). After cancelling you move to Basic, and your CVs and letters stay in your account (FAQ). Check the current terms before you cancel.

With Joblumi there is nothing to cancel. When the pass ends, your account goes back to the free plan and your documents stay. Joblumi also gives a voluntary full refund within 14 days of buying a pass, once per account and payment method.

Photos

A photo is optional on a German CV. If you want one, bewerbung.ai creates application photos from a selfie. You describe clothing and background in text, and its FAQ says your face, pose and expression stay the same. Joblumi has an optional photo field for a photo you already have.

Cost refund from the Agentur für Arbeit

bewerbung.ai points out that the Agentur für Arbeit can pay for application costs through the Vermittlungsbudget (§ 44 SGB III), usually if you are unemployed, at risk of unemployment or looking for an apprenticeship. It recommends talking to your advisor before you pay. If this applies to you, ask your advisor before buying any application tool.

When bewerbung.ai is the better choice

  • You want AI application photos with a monthly quota or as a one-time pack.
  • You search for a year or longer and want a yearly plan.
