Joblumi vs LiveCareer: a German site or German rules in English (2026)

Joblumi EditorialLast checked 1 Nov 20267 min read

LiveCareer runs a German website, livecareer.de, with a CV builder, a cover letter generator and templates for the tabular German CV. Everything on it is in German. Joblumi is made for people who apply in Germany but prefer to work in English: the app runs in English or German, the website is in English, and it explains the German rules as you go.

That is the main difference between the two. The second one is what you can see before you start: LiveCareer shows no prices on livecareer.de, while Joblumi's prices are on its pricing page.

Working in German or in English

On livecareer.de the editor, the tips and the example phrases are written in German. If your German is good, that is direct: you see the words that will end up in your CV.

If your German is still growing, the question is how much of the German you need to understand to get it right. A German CV has details that are easy to miss: the date format MM/YYYY, newest entries first, how to show language levels, and whether to add a photo. Joblumi explains these rules in English while you fill in your CV, and the app itself can switch between English and German. With a pass, it translates your CV and cover letter between the two languages, and a language check reads every version you make for a job.

What you can see before you start

Before you pay, it helps to know three things: the price, how long you pay, and what the free plan gives you.

  • Price. livecareer.de shows no prices on its pages. We checked the homepage again on 31 Oct 2026 and found no price and no link to a price page. Its terms say the provider may offer different prices and offers depending on your selection and details. Joblumi's two prices are fixed on its pricing page.
  • How long you pay. LiveCareer's paid plans renew automatically until you cancel. A Joblumi pass ends after 30 or 90 days.
  • Free plan. LiveCareer's FAQ says you can build and design your CV for free and need a paid subscription for the download; its terms add that a TXT version of your CV can be downloaded for free. Joblumi's free plan includes a PDF of one CV.

What Joblumi costs over time (calculated)

Because LiveCareer's euro prices are not on its website, we can't calculate its side. Here is ours, so you can compare it with the price LiveCareer shows you before you pay:

How long you searchJoblumi
Up to 30 days€14.90 (one 30-day pass)
Up to 90 days€34.90 (one 90-day pass)
Up to 180 days€69.80 (two 90-day passes; the days add up)

Calculated by Joblumi from its own prices, VAT included, 1 Nov 2026.

Templates and the German CV

LiveCareer's FAQ says all its designs suit the tabular CV ("tabellarischer Lebenslauf") and that you can change colours, fonts and sections. Its homepage says every template meets ATS standards. On the number of templates the site gives two figures: 20+ in the FAQ and over thirty on the homepage.

Joblumi has 10 designs, 3 of them free, all built for the German tabular CV. The free (G)ATS Score checks your CV against German conventions and applicant software and shows every fix. You can read how applicant software reads a CV.

Your documents after you stop paying

LiveCareer's terms say your CVs and cover letters stay in your account after you cancel. Without an active subscription you can view them, but not edit, print or share them.

The terms also describe an optional online CV. If you publish one, it is added to a searchable database unless you say no, and cancelling the subscription does not unpublish it. You unpublish it in your account or by deleting the account (terms, section 8).

When a Joblumi pass ends, you are back on the free plan and your documents stay in your account.

How to cancel LiveCareer

Its terms say you can cancel anytime, effective at the end of the billing period: online under My Account, or through customer service by phone (800 182 084 7) or email (kundendienst@livecareer.de). You get a confirmation email with a cancellation number (terms, section 10; cancellation page, retrieved 31 Oct 2026).
